The other cat who is fighting MMA is an amateur MMA fighter, and I know nothing beyond that.

Fight was supposed to go down in NYC. Al's people are claiming they're on site. The Sherdog people are claiming they're on site. Problem is: neither party is seeing the other there. The sherdog people are taking receipts/video to prove they were there. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I want a fight damnit!

If this was an elaborate trolljob by a person, or persons, posing as Al and students, creating their forum a month ago, creating a small webpage, dropping a random comment about their teacher being a BJJ BB on myspace, dealing with the forum raid, and then setting this all up, that is some seriously amazing asshat work. Just mind blowing.

Supposedly video will be posted from the fighthouse of the guys standing around waiting (with timestamps and clock shots) and then of them doing a Sambo leglock session with the guy who was supposed to ref.

Elaborate hoax, or so it seems. I think the target was the bullshido website, but this Mikey Traingles cat just got caught up in it accidently. Run by someone who calls themselves the ACA. Not exactly sure what the point is, but there manifesto seems to be that anyone should be able to spread whatever martial arts bullshit they want without being hassled. Good troll job, but I'm not sure what the hell the point is. Not really that funny, no overriding goal acheived, just sort of random lie.

But I believe the point of their group is to stop agressive assholes from being pricks to TMA guys just to be pricks. Instead, they fabricated a guy who was lying about BJJ credentials, and then when the guy investigating was very polite about asking, they challenged the guy to a fight, which they eventually talked them into. Sure it's mildly amusing, but it's not like they did it to a guy who was like "Tai Chi sucks ass, I wanna fight your teacher." Now that would be someone who had it coming, and far funnier to me.

This shit was premeditated ownage at its finest. These guys, who call themselves the ACA (All Challenges Accepted) devised these elaborate plan to pwn Bullshido.net, but Mikey Triangles from Sherdog was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and ended up getting caught up in the mix.

The ACA, for some reason or another, totally supports the spread of martial art misinformation on the Internet. Their main target was Bullshido, but anyone willing to stick up for the integrity of martial arts would do. They started a forum an entire month ago and posted in it casually a few times to make it seem like your run-of-the-mill message board. On top of that, they assumed the pre-existing personas of Sensei Al (T-Nation forumer, YouTube member) and THEDAVIS (YouTube member) and created a fake MySpace account for Mecho, one of Sensei Al's top students, with a 16-0-4 record.

The entire thing came to an abrupt end when Sensei Al accidently made a post as Mecho without logging out of his Sensei Al account first. Someone quoted it before Al could delete it and the prank was all but over. In a matter of minutes an ACA page replaced the original MMA Fighters website and Sensei Al and company started gloating that we had all been had.

I, for one, was convinced this was legit. I didn't think your average troll would spend a month's time on a prank like this. It's unfortunate that Mikey Triangles and James Funaro had to waste a half of a day traveling to New York to fight these make-believe characters, but for all of the outsiders (like me) it was funny as fuck.

looking back on this thread and seeing how worked up you got is actually pretty damn funny, and it WAS well done. that being said, there's no way the payout was anywhere close to worth the effort. they spent a month putting that together, most people that fell for it had a 3-5 second laugh and moved on with their lives.

It's quality that these people exist. On their forum, they've got a special 'cussing people' section which you have to earn access to. They get people to demonstrate recent troll jobs before they trust you enough to let you in lol I was reading some of the stuff there a couple of months ago, some EZboard thing, one of the most active trolls on there was telling people who wanted access to 'cussing people' that they would be fairly disappointed, 'There's not much going on here these days, we are all a bit too busy to spend time trolling.' haha __________________ Never give a sucker an even break
