If you're sharp, you can make a lot more money part time in the hospitality industry than any other available job while going to school.

I worked in a restaurant where we charged more for a 1 1/2 oz. shot of Louis XIII cognac than you pay for a weeks worth of Fried chicken, greens and cornbread and that's a seven day week. Probably with pie for desert too.

if it was about the "experience" you would go to nice resturants where you get great service and feel like paying a nice fat tip to an experienced server is all part of the "experience". peopel go to shitty place for convinince and because they are lazy.

I agree with the experienced server and the whole dining experience you get at a nicer class restaurant. I had the opportunity to eat at this place called Scoma's on the Wharf in San Fran. It was the best dining experience I have ever had. The waiter was able to describe how each dish tasted and recommended some good stuff. Everything I ate was top notch and I ended up tipping him 20$ on a 30 meal. I didnt care what the rest of my party wanted to tip because this whole meal experience was fanfuckingtastic! I never once had to ask for a refill, or anything for that matter. This place was just real good service and food.

I ate at Nobu in Vegas when I was there and everything that the waiter recommended was superb, unfortunately everything else that I chose was ordinary. So if you dine somewhere decent just stick with the waiters recommendations or go the degustation route.
